Glenquey Quarry  Result of the PKC Planning Meeting, Wednesday 7th March 2012

The Perth and Kinross Development Control Committee (DCC) deferred a decision on the quarry applications for GlenQuey as they felt that there was insufficient information in the officers report to make a final decision one way or another. The impressive deputations made at the meeting by Jon Jordan, Stuart Dean, Malcolm Best and J Dugdale Bradley (Dollar) were instrumental in influencing the decision made.

There is a report in the Courier of 8th March which you can read by going to www.thecourier.co.uk; enter Glenquey Quarry in the Search box top right and clicking on Go. It is worth reading.

The Minor Injuries Unit is now open at Stirling Community Hospital - see Local Information page for details. (31st Jan 2012)

There are plans to introduce a 50 mph speed limit on the A91 between Tillicoultry and Dollar and between Dollar and Muckhart. Traffic Management in and around Muckhart. Details and maps on Community Council Page. Documents and maps concerning new speed limits now available on Clacksweb; see Community Council page for directions to view. (At the Muckhart Community Council meeting on 1st June, it was proposed that the 40 mph limit be extended westwards along the A91 to the start of the Cowden bends and that Clackmannanshire Council should cooperate with PKC over a 40 mph limit on the A823 starting north of the junction with Golf Course Road and continuing through Rumbling Bridge to the A977).

Wind Prospect, the wind farm company which was successful in securing planning permission from Clackmannanshire Council for the 13 turbine wind farm at Burnfoot Hill in the Ochils north of Tillicoultry, wishes to increase the number of turbines by up to 22, making a possible total of 35. For a map of the planned extension, click on Burnfoot Wind Farm Development.
