There was a meeting of the Clackmannanshire Council Planning Committee on Thursday 17th March (Convener Alastair Campbell) to discuss the PKC Planning Application for extending the licence of Glenquey Quarry. The Committee has robustly questioned the application for a wide range of reasons. To read the Cooncil's response and see a list of those attending the meeting go to:-

The application by CEMEX to extend the licence for extraction from Glenquey Quarry until 2035 has been classed a major application, and will shortly be considered by the Development Control Committee (DCC) of Perth and Kinross Council. 93 objections to the quarry and 55 to the Haul Road have been lodged with PKC. The DCC meets monthly, always at 09.30 on a Wednesday; the meetings are open to the public and are held in the Council Chambers at 2 High Street, Perth. Those who have raised valid objections should receive notification a week or ten days before the date of the relevant meeting. If objectors wish to speak at the meeting (5 minutes maximum), they must make a request to PKC by the Friday immediately before the date of the meeting. It is understood that a CEMEX consultant will speak. The probable date of the meeting is 13th April.
