ROADWORKS COMING UP
LOOK OUT FOR ROADWORKS FROM FISHCROSS – DOLLAR - MUCKHART – GLENDEVON
Due to cabling works for the Green Knowes windfarm, there will be disruption to traffic in the above area starting 13th August 2007 and finishing sometime in December 2007.
An electricity cable is to be laid to connect the Green Knowes windfarm above Glendevon to the grid substation at Fishcross. This involves laying 21 km of underground cable which will follow the B9140 from Fishcross to above Dollar via the B913 before heading up the A91 through Muckhart to Glendevon. Trenches will be dug either through fields next to the road or along verges next to the road, or on the road itself.
It is anticipated that there will be some disruption due to traffic lights along the route. The work will be starting in two sections simultaneously, both beginning in August. One section will begin in Fishcross and the other section in Dollar. The work is likely to be completed at around 50 metres a day with the Muckhart stretch taking place in September/October.
Scottish Power is keen to liaise with local communities during this period to minimise the disruption. Their Community Liaison Officer is Angela Reddington who can be contacted on 01698 413480 or you can contact Muckhart Community Council members who will pass on your concerns.
